The American Bonanza Society will be offering a free online presentation titled "FAA Remedial Training - Get Back In Your Beechcraft" on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. This live webinar will be starting at 8 PM EST and will be presented by Beechcraft Pilot Proficiency Program accredited Flight Instructor Mike Friel and Executive Director of the American Bonanza Society Air Safety FoundationThomas P. Turner.

This live, web-based presentation will cover:

  • FAA’s change from a penalty-based to an education-based mindset
  • How these changes affect us as pilots.
  • The most common pilot deviations, and how to avoid them.
  • Positive lessons from FAA Remedial Training.
  • Lessons from compliance case history.

About the Presenters

Mike Friel is a Beechcraft Pilot Proficiency Program accredited Flight Instructor. He is retired from the United States Army as an Army Aviation Branch Chief Warrant Officer 5 instructor pilot and is a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross. Mike is also retired from the United States Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration where he was an instructor pilot in the DEA Aviation unit and the inaugural recipient of the DEA Pilot of the Year Award. Mike is also the recipient of the 2019 FAA Eastern Region CFI of the Year Award and the FAA’s Master Pilot Award.

Thomas P. Turner, Executive Director of the American Bonanza Society Air Safety Foundation. He has specialized in instructing in Beech airplanes for 30 years and has managed ABS technical programs for 17 years. In 2015 Tom was inducted into the National Flight Instructor Hall of Fame.
